Military Applications
Visioneering provides several options for military use depending on your application needs, whether it’s a fixed large installation or a mobile tactical unit. The systems provide digital surveillance technology that “views” a surveillance site, filters out extraneous background images such as falling rain or blowing leaves so that it can focus on possible security threats.
The system performs three important tasks—video analysis, content analysis, and taking action. In analyzing the video, the system is able to distinguish and discard background images such as rain or wind in video frames in order to better identify and extract other objects of interest. Once these items have been separated in the video stream, the items of interest can then be analyzed according to preset rules established before hand by the site’s director. Visioneering’s unique image enhancement technology assists the system’s analysis by creating a much clearer, crisper, and more highly contrasted images.
If the system identifies a person moving past a certain pre-identified point, it can initiate action in notifying security personnel by phone, pager, or e-mail and can even send the specific video frames of interest. These predetermined rules actually create visual “trip wires” that the system references to register that a violation has occurred or is occurring. The system identifies and reports security threats as they happen, rather than waiting until after the fact when it’s too late.
The systems are designed to provide rapidly deployable, extended-range surveillance capability for a variety of operations and missions, including: fire control, force protection, tactical security, support to counter-drug and border patrol operations, signal/communications relays, detection and assessment of barriers (e.g., mine fields, tank traps), remote assessment of suspected contaminated areas (e.g., chemical, biological, and nuclear).
Fixed Large Installation Applications
The CRYSTAL-i™ VSB (Intelligent Video Server Blade) technology provides a highly scalable, modular and expandable Video Server Blade system for fixed military and homeland security applications. The CRYSTAL-i™ VSB system delivers intelligent, interactive video surveillance solutions that provide quick response and quick and accurate identification of potential threats.
